The
Greater Pittsburgh Mustang Club (GPMC) is a non-profit organization
that was established in 1976, and is dedicated to the promotion
and preservation of Ford Mustang automobiles of all years. The GPMC
strives to be an accurate source of technical and historical information
about Mustangs. Currently we have 125 memberships (over 200 adult
members) who own 150+ Mustangs. As a member of the Mustang Club
of America (MCA), we are working hard at becoming one of the premier
Regional MCA Clubs.
During
the year, the GPMC hosts a variety of events and activities. These
include the annual All-Ford car show, a Mustang display at the Pittsburgh
Vintage Grand Prix, a club picnic, a Fall Foliage cruise, a holiday
party, and other events and cruises as planned by the members. We
also attend local and national events that are sponsored by other
groups. The Carlisle All-Ford Nationals is a favorite event as are
the Regional, National, and Grand National MCA events.
As
a volunteer organization, the GPMC depends on its members to organize
and help with events. (We have established a "Pony Points"
system to reward members for their help with club activities.) In
addition to serving the local and national Mustang communities,
the GPMC has supported various charitable organizations. During
the last several years, we have donated over $7,500 to local and
national charities through our fundraising events.
Members
receive a membership directory, membership card, and name button.
Several Ford dealers, auto parts suppliers, and performance shops
offer discounts. Also, we publish a monthly newsletter that has
articles by members of the Board, a listing of planned cruises and
events, and a classified section.
The
General Membership meetings are held the first Wednesday of every
month at 7:30 PM at Roosevelt Grove in North Park (and other locations)
from May through September. They are held indoors at Kings Family
Restaurant in Harmar from October through April. The Board of Directors
meets at 7:00 PM on the third Wednesday of every month throughout
the year at Kings Family Restaurant in Harmar.
We
hope that you will consider joining our club. Mustang ownership
is not necessary, only an interest in Mustangs of any vintage from
1964 1/2 to present. (MCA membership is also encouraged, and
our application form contains information about how to become an
MCA member.)
Download,
print and complete the New Member Application. Mail it with your
check or money order payable to "GPMC" to the GPMC Membership
Director. Don't forget to consider joining the Mustang Club of America
(MCA)!
